В данном научном исследовании представлено определение ресурсного потенциала региона и отражены основные его составляющие. На примере трех регионов Российской Федерации – Республики Карелия, Чеченской Республики и Астраханской области авторы исследуют туристский потенциал (анализ посещаемости дестинаций, SWOT-анализ и отзывы реальных туристов). На основе полученных данных разработаны рекомендации по совершенствованию инструментария оценки ресурсного потенциала туризма на региональном уровне. Также в статье отражено использование геоинформационных систем в сфере туризма, то, как она может помочь в развитии дестинации и решении основных проблем туристской отрасли конкретного региона.

This scientific study presents the definition of the resource potential of the region and also reflects its main components. Using the example of three regions of the Russian Federation – the Republic of Karelia, the Chechen Republic and the Astrakhan Region, the authors explore the tourist potential (analysis of destination traffic, SWOT analysis and reviews of real tourists). Based on the data obtained, recommendations are made to improve the tools for assessing the resource potential of tourism at the regional level, and it is also stipulated that first you need to conduct a primary comprehensive analysis, and only then look for ways of development. The article also reflects the use of the GIS system in the field of tourism and how it can help in the development of the destination and the ordering of the main problematic issues that should be eradicated by the tourism industry of a particular region.
