University management: challenges, answers, prospects

Abstract
The article examines the challenges facing the domestic higher education system at the stage of its digital transformation. The situation is analyzed from the standpoint of control theory in its cybernetic formulation: challenges are classified as disturbing effects on the system, which must be compensated for by applying control actions to it, formed in accordance with the nature of the disturbances. The author identified the main challenges facing the university, formulated the basic principles for their elimination with an emphasis on identifying promising practices for managing a private university.
